Magazine Cover
This magazine cover was made using Adobe InDesign, which is something new to me. The major difference between this and the other two we had learned (Photoshop & Illustrator) was that not much editing or effects can be done in it.
The theme was fishes. We were to make a cover for a magazine about fishes. I decided to center my theme on the fish "KOI". KOI is fish that many breeders sought to perfect the breeding to achieve a showcase standard. They are usually kept in outdoor KOI ponds or water gardens.
KOI is a fish that is very expensive and classy. They also love to be pampered by their owners . Therefore I choose "Quintessential KOI" as the cover title. "Quintessential" as in the perfect example, and "KOI" the breed of fish.
The concept of the design was that i had the background of pebbles in water, and top it on with a picture of KOI. The picture of KOI was tweek around a little to give the illustions that they are actually swimming in an outdoor water garden with pebbles below them, which is not how the picture originally is. I also did multiple break apart frame to make it more unique and pulling attention to the KOI.
A small column on the corner was to give buyers a sneak preview of what they can acquire by buying the magazine. As well as the price and bar code on the left corner. I did the bar code using the line tool and I attach my name as a replacement to numbers just for preview purpose.
