There You Go, My Tracing
I had have some experience with Photoshop, but never with Illustrator. The first time I did ever open it up was for this very class. Some basic tools were very similar to those found in Photoshop, however some were alien to me.
It surprised me when I found out how easy some of the tools were compared to the same tool in Photoshop. For example, the alt(option) key does not need to to be held down when trying to break a point in pen tool. Or how the shapes can be filled just by selecting the colors, whereby in Photoshop the paint bucket or brush needs to be used.
After the quick tutorial by the lecture Ms.Ivy we got down to business by tracing the toe of this Gundam model as a first try. It was pretty complicated at first, as I was only suppose to use different shades of a colour to exhibit the lightning on the model giving it a 3D feel. I did not find my try during that tutorial class satisfying. However after much practice and colour testing I finally complete tracing the Gundam model as shown above.
I chose the colour red as the main colour because Gundam is an anime that always revolves around a war, where blood is spilled. The blue was place around areas that made it look like the Gundam's life lines. The black, yellow, and white were chosen to enhance the Gundam as a whole to look menacing, cool, and strong.
